Welcome to Creekside Quest — a colourful, creek-hopping adventure game painted right on your local picnic table!

🎯 Goal of the Game

Be the first player to reach the finish by navigating rivers, roads, and grassy trails — all while dodging rivals and crossing the creek at the right time!

👥 Number of Players

2–8 players can join the quest at once.

🧍 What You Need

• A shared rock or token to toss (use one for the group)

• A small object (like a pebble, leaf, or toy) to represent you on the board

• Your sense of adventure!

🚩 Starting the Game

• All players begin at the START space near the beach area.

• Sit at one of the colourful benches — your seat colour matters later in the game!

• The youngest player goes first, then turns continue clockwise.

🎲 Taking a Turn

1. Toss the shared rock gently into the beach area of the table.

2. Where the rock lands determines your movement:

   • 🌊 Water = Move 1 space

   • 🌿 Grass = Move 2 spaces

   • 🏖️ Beach = Move 3 spaces

   • For your first turn you can choose either side of the creek

   • Decide collectively at the beginning of the game if you stay in your selected seat to toss the stone (making it a little harder for players up the creek) or move to a designated toss area at the end of the table by the lake. 

🪢 Special Spaces & Crossing the Creek

• Some game spaces have bench-colour squares (like pink, orange, brown, etc.).

• If you land on a space that matches your bench colour, you must follow the arrow and cross the creek to the opposite side — even if it's your own colour!

• This keeps the creek crossing dynamic and full of surprises.

🔁 Chain Reactions & Player Interactions

• If you land on a space already occupied by another player:

  1. They move back one space.

  2. You move forward one space.

  3. If this causes you to land on yet another player… repeat the reaction!

• This can trigger chain reactions, especially in big games — so aim wisely!

🏁 Winning the Game

The first player to reach the final space wins Creekside Quest! 🎉

💡 Notes & Tips

• Be mindful of your toss — a well-aimed throw can mean the difference between drifting in the creek or a leap ahead on the beach!

• Younger players may prefer gentler chain-reaction rules (or none at all) for simpler play.
